Location

Boundaries

Centennial Hills is generally bordered by the Snow Mountain Paiute Reservation and Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument to the north, Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area to the west, Summerlin to the south, and North Las Vegas to the east. As with most Las Vegas Valley neighborhood names, these are informal, commonly used boundaries rather than an official municipal or Census boundary.

Background

History

The name “Centennial Hills” was chosen through a public contest in January 2001, winning with 2,222 votes over alternatives including “Arrow Canyon,” “Tule Springs” and “Cielo de Oro.” Centennial Hills Hospital, a 226-bed facility on Durango Drive, opened in January 2008 as Nevada's first tobacco-free hospital campus.

Getting around

Transportation

The neighborhood is centered on the Interstate 11 / U.S. 95 interchange with the CC-215 Beltway, sometimes called the “Centennial Bowl” interchange, which was upgraded in 2023. An RTC Transit park-and-ride center serving the area opened in January 2010.

Schools

Clark County School District

Centennial Hills is served by the Clark County School District. CCSD assigns schools by specific street address, not by neighborhood name, and the district's own zoning tool notes that boundaries are subject to change by Board of Trustees action, so I do not name specific zoned schools on this page. Use CCSD's official zoning search tool to look up the current elementary, middle and high school assignment for a specific address.
